| I Got Started in RC When |
My dad use to spend all winter building RC Boats and run them at the cottage. He got an electric F150 in like 1975 that I use to always break and because I kept breaking it my dad finally got me one for Christmas. |

For Christmas in 1978 I got my first 1/8 Scale a Kyosho Rowdy Baja, 2WD Gas powered after that I was hooked for life. |

| Why you love the hobby |
RC has been something I have been able to move in and out of my entire life. I probably enjoy building/working on the cars as much as driving them. The best thing about RC is hanging out with friends at the track and then going out for a big steak dinner afterwards! |

My dad got a Tamyia hot shot for his birthday we played in the park but 1 wasnt that much fun so i got a Tamyia thunder shot for christmas was fun for a bit but got a little boring so my dad looked for tracks in the phone book and found a place called bloor hobbies started there in 1985 i think. |

| Why you love the hobby: |
I love the hobby for many reasons, first i guess it was something me and my father could do together and it brought us as close as we are today and took us both to see lots of great places in the world. Second would be the friends and great people i have met over the years. Third is that things are always changing and improving so to stay competitive you are always learning new tips and tricks. Finnaly just going for a great dinner and talking about that day of racing and having fun. |

A Kyosho Optima was my first hobby grade rc car; it was chain drive and 4wd and was the fastest car on the street! I had a few toy rc’s before and my favorite was a 3AA powered Ferrari I used to drift around the basement floor. |

| Why you love the hobby |
I really like how immersed you can get into rc; it is something to look forward to if you are having a bad day. The friends you make are a real joy in the hobby, whether racing, flying, or hanging out it is nice to share a passion for a hobby with others. I love the competition side of rc car racing and am always looking forward to the challenges involved in all the preparation it requires to be successful. From the maintenance, setup, practice, strategy and finally the racing I truly enjoy it all! I also love the relaxed attitude at the flying club, kicking back with friends outdoors flying model planes on a beautiful afternoon is awesome. |
